With Emiliano traveling the world finding himself hanging way down in New Zealand, I decided to help a brother out by filling in for him with this week’s TOTW selection. I have always admired collaborations, especially when the talents of the contributing collaborators shine through individually while coming together
My selection for Turning of the Week for May 4, 2026 is Waking Dream - Danza Pagana by Roberto Ferrer and Carol Hall shows this collaboration dance wonderfully. Looking at the Holly form created by Roberto, it reminds me of what a talented Woodturner he is. This form rocks it with the well defined rim and the fabulous curve all the way down, home run Roberto! When I saw the embellishing on the piece, it was immediately recognized as Carol Hall’s artwork. She has a wonderful way of flowing the art so it encompasses the piece. I have to say, this is pretty close to wood porn, haha!! I do love the black and white option taken by Carol; terrific end result Carol!! This artwork really allows the form to show off! Congratulations to you both on a fabulous piece.
