Although there has been some absolutely outstanding embellished turnings as of late, I had pre-planned to pick something that exemplifies pure turning skills....the very heart of what it means to be a wood lathe turner. Here we have an example of a vessel that's been turned on the exterior, as well as the interior. Added to that are some finely executed spindle turning elements with offset features. The colors work great in this one, as well as the execution, compounded by great form and detail work.

I present for this week's turning of the week, "Off Center Goblet" by Nick Valenza.
