My selection for Turning of the Week for October 23, 2023, is "Just One More Bit of Joy Even if Your Bowl is Full" by Christine Smith. I love it when people take a thought and convert it into a piece of art. Of course, it helps if they have the skill to create the work and do it well on top of that. Wonderful job Christine.

John Lucas, Thank you so much for selecting my work for “Turning of the week”! I am just now seeing this after being on a trip…
This means a lot and I am beaming with pride!!
Especially since yesterday was my first day back at the lathe after a lengthy injury to my hand.
Many thanks for everyone’s kind comments as well. I so appreciate it!

What an inspiration you are! I carve my bowls and have begun to consider carving birds. Your work is beautiful and a real inspiration to me!
Thank you, June!
Adding a bit of carving is a great way to embellish a turning! Please feel free to contact me if you would like any info on beginner bird carving. Mine was a chickadee. My email is cvinternet3@gmail.com

I just saw this piece in person at John C Campbell! It’s even more impressive in person. Much deserved Christine. Thanks for all you did this week! Beautiful
Thanks so much, Ted! It was a real treat to be amongst you and the whole group this week! Please stay in touch!
