Turning of the Week for September 29, 2025

My selection for Turning of the Week for September 29, 2025 is "Bud Vase" by Tom Hale. Not only is it an outstanding turning done in quartersawn white oak, but surprisingly it is also one solid piece. My initial (incorrect) impression was that it was an excellent example of precision joinery, but by "pixel peeping" I was able to confirm that it is indeed one solid piece of wood.

I highly recommend a visit to Tom’s Instagram site as you get a nice glimpse into some of his techniques and amazing backlog of pieces “in process”.
