Example of what many of you are saying:
About 20 years ago, my wife bought me a compound mitre saw for Christmas. Then about New Years, she told me she wanted me to install crown molding in the dining room. Ten years later, she had me replace baseboards around our upstairs bedrooms. After another 10 years, my daughter asked me to help her install some crown molding in her new house. Think of the extra spare time I would have had if it weren't for that one Christmas present!

seems everyone else has weighed in so why not me too? I did flat work for years building inside and outside furniture, remodeling, cabinets, etc until I got hooked on woodturning. I've never owned a joiner nor felt the need for one.
