I am really getting getting tired of of the whole art fair scene (In other words, old). Can anyone recommend wood art galleries that specialize on non-functional pieces like this one?

Thanks,

You might want to check into art galleries in Carmel, CA.

This small community is well known as an art community, tourist orientated. People travel here specifically to purchase art. This town's mayor was Clint Eastwood at one time!

You might consider sending a portfolio of some of your work to the Dunn Gallery in Oakland, CA which is very close to the UC Berkley campus. I don't know if they are still accepting work from new artists, but it won't hurt to inquire.

I photographed for many many artists for the last 26 years and one thing I learned is virtually all of them have multiple outlets. It's hard to make a living doing just art shows or just galleries. Most do both and have any other income sources they can find such as teaching or writing etc. That's not to say it can't be done it's just a tough way to go.

John--I agree about multiple outlets. However, I never quit my day job, so I don't have to rely on art sales to live on. Then, as a possible answer to my own original question, I have discovered that looking at well-known turners websites and checking which galleries they are selling at is another good way to find galleries.
