Are Woodcut bowl gouges available in the US?
I've seen the sharpening system and hollowing tools, but
not bowl gouges. I'd like to try one.
Thanks.

Looks as if you'll have to order from their NZ site. Do you think Mora is superior to Sheffield's steel?

Michael,
I must admit I know nothing about Mora steel. Can you enlighten me?
I have heard that Sheffield steel isn't the same as it used to be. Someone said it is now imported. I have no way of knowing if that is true. I wanted to try the tool based on Terry Scott's review and the fact that the tool is solid so maybe less flex.

Yes Sheffield steel is imported, it always has been

From Sheffield England

Although it might be that some companies in Sheffield are now importing their raw stock.

But it does come down to the firm, and the quality standards they are willing to maintain

Thanks for the clarification. That really helps.

Just to put in a good word for Woodcut: I've ordered directly from them a few times and have zero complaints. The one time I had an issue with a threaded component, Woodcut sent a replacement with no hassles.

Took about a week or a tad longer to get the items from New Zealand (delivered to the Pacific NW).

Owen,
Have you tried their gouges?
