Have a Woodfast Model MC908 lathe for sale in metropolitan Chicago I am posting for a friend as an estate item. Excellent condition. Located in the garage making it easier to load. The owners contact is Mike, phone 630-337-3909. This is a quality full size lathe and I know some of the forum members have expressed their satisfaction with this brand. Made in Australia. Pics attached. Forum members are also welcome to contact me and I can work to get answers to your questions. Asking $750 or best offer.

That is the same lathe as I've been turning on for the past 31 years, and this one looks to have seen much less use than mine has. It looks like this is the variable speed model, which would have been a 1hp Leeson DC motor...very high quality. I changed belts on mine for 20 years before I got smart, and converted to variable speed.

Do the lathe tools and accessories come with it?

Just in case anyone wonders....the spindle is 1 1/4" x 8tpi. #2 morse taper both spindle and tailstock.

IMHO, this is one heck of a good deal! ;)

Thanks Odie - as far as I know the lathe tools are all for sale (on-site) but the price offered is for the lathe only. Appreciate your comments as I knew how happy you’ve been with your lathe. I’ve only heard positive reviews on the forum about the Woodfast lathes.

BTW - this lathe can be had for around the same price as a new (modern) mini or midi. Quite a deal!

Additional info:

With this heavy CSUSA made steel base, this all cast iron original Australian Woodfast lathe was listed at 525 lbs, as a total package.

I have always felt the additional weight was a real benefit to my bowl turning.
