looking for a pair of 12tpi chasers. I just can't bring myself to pay the 125.00 for a C&S. Do you have a pair collecting dust your willing to part with?

Dale,
Are you interested in making the chasers? It's not expensive or difficult. You'll need:
1. Carbon steel; bench chisel, file, etc.
2. Mapp or propane torch.
3. 4/4 to 6/4 hard maple or any other hard wood.
4. Wood saw; hand saw, bandsaw or table saw.
5. Tap with 12 tpi; larger is better, might be able to borrow from a local machinist.
All of my taps are homemade. Some are almost 40 years old. They have chased: Wood, acrylics, corian, aluminum, brass, and mild steel. They are ALL in very fine condition. Let me know if you're interested.

Terry, thanks for the reply. Not looking to make some, just looking for a tool to add to the collection, wife makes me pick out own bday gifts. got enough gouges to last a couple years.
