Anyone getting out of the hollowing game and have one they would sell? (cheaper the better)

At one point I was going to try to make one but I can't find the plans that captain eddie had put out before.

I couldn't get the link Cptn Eddie posted elsewhere.

Bug from a Google search. I didn't watch any of these but maybe there's something interesting hiding there somewhere.

More searching might have more useful info. Or maybe someone else has useful suggestions.

I've watched the videos of the wooden ones.

Did Capt Eddie pass or just his web site? Used to be a site where there were several of his diy jigs posted but isn't working anymore.

I'm not above making one but measured plans would be good rather than just drilling some holes in flat stock and bolting it together.

Also not above buying one but if I don't end up getting into hollow forms I'd rather spend the money on a different tool.

There was an old message thread on another woodturning forum where he acknowledged a problem with the website or the files. I forget the details but a google search with his name and the keywords "hollowing" or "articulated" might find it.

I personally had a captive hollowing rig with a camera but didn't use it and practically gave it away.
I do use the Jordan hollowing tools and the arm brace is fine for what I do. And sometimes the Hunter Tools, again by hand.
I might think differently if I suffered enough brain damage to attempt things of the size David Marks has done:

(Hey I still have a piece of birds-eye burl from David - I should pass that on to some deserving person...)

I made my captive hollower a couple yrs ago from scrap wood, junk yard steel/alum and a cutter assembly from AZ Carbide. It was a fun project and one of the most useful shop tool mods I've done.

I love the way it cuts without chatter/catches/stress/anxiety etc. and it got me into turning hollow forms quickly and with ease. I use it a LOT.

Here's a link to some of my original build pics .... made several mods since (replaced the plywood backrest with iron pipe fittings and spare banjo (see attach pics below), made a 1-1/8" boring bar, etc.) Didn't go the camera route, stuck with a laser.

I also attached a pdf that I had started out with (can't remember where it came from) ... I ended up modifying the design in regard to the backrest and also opted for a welded D shaped backend.
