I am looking for a Standard Cole Jaw set for a Nova G3 chuck. Anybody have one they no longer need or use?
I think the jaws are the same for all, but I would need to be sure. I can check with Teknatool. How much are you asking?I have a set for SN2 , I think it would be the same . Let me know if interested
Hi Warren,
I may have an extra set. Will confirm later today
Why don't you attach/screw four wedge-shaped pieces of wood (any thickness or width. cut at 45 deg.) to the jaws. Trim to the swing of your lathe or smaller. In use, close the jaws until all four sections touch and then open slightly (⅛" or more". Cut a groove in the wood the approximate diameter and width of your bowl rim…..make a slight dovetail cut, if necessary, on what will be the inner or outer edge of your groove to match the profile of your bowl rim. Expand or contract the jaws to grip your workpiece…. (gently if expanding to not break the rim). This will grip the rim around the full circumference and not just at 8 points. Besides, this is a lot better and quicker than fiddling with all those rubber grippers and bolts. I switched from my Flat Jaws (Oneway) to this system for a larger range (20" swing ~ even though I never turn anything that largeI have the mini jaws already. Thanks for the offer, though.
