Completed 11/20/22, after initial roughing the 14% MC blank, the roughed bowl took 5 months to stabilize. 13 1/16" x 2 7/16", 1 lb 9.6 oz. Sold for $360. Very difficult to sand with such big voids, but do-able with some practice! :)
Once again, it's unbelievable to me that you can get that kind of detail in cottonwood. You definitely need to give a presentation on your techniques at the AAW symposium

Sam....that question comes up now and then. It's because of Etsy policy. Etsy suggests everyone have something in the photo that gives the viewer some idea of the size of the object. This is my solution, and I just happen to have an old Scrabble game. That old board game is on the shelf with several other old board games......and, getting dusty! Since the new age of computer games, my sons call me "the dinosaur"!!!! Ha,ha.
If you do some online searches, you'll find quite a few wood dealers.....expect to pay a premium for the best pieces, though. Even so, I probably lose 5% of what I buy for various reasons. Buying wood online is definitely a gamble, and there are plenty of dealers who have various methods of making you think you're getting something you won't.
