1899 Cottonwood burl centerpiece.

Completed 11/20/22, after initial roughing the 14% MC blank, the roughed bowl took 5 months to stabilize. 13 1/16" x 2 7/16", 1 lb 9.6 oz. Sold for $360. Very difficult to sand with such big voids, but do-able with some practice! :)

If you do some online searches, you'll find quite a few wood dealers.....expect to pay a premium for the best pieces, though. Even so, I probably lose 5% of what I buy for various reasons. Buying wood online is definitely a gamble, and there are plenty of dealers who have various methods of making you think you're getting something you won't.
