AAW Forum Contest Entry - 2

"A Straight Bowl that will throw you a Curve"

The choice of woods was done for 2 reasons:
1.The smaller dark curved sections have to be contrasted by a light backgroud to pick up on the gentle curve (see side view of bowl in gallery)
2.Common easy to work woods were picked because until I got to the last glueing stage I did'nt even know if it was going to work (as far as I know I'm breaking new ground here). If I make another I will make more exotic choices.

As for "light wood mixed with dark goes back to school wood shop"

I never took school wood shop.
