Amphora IV

Amphora IV is from a series of segmented turnings I am making that celebrate the classic design of the amphora. This amphora is made from nearly 500 pieces of American Cherry, Brazilian Cherry, Maple, and Ebony. It features a "Greek key" motif underneath a segmented ring of a drapery design made from ebony. This is one of the largest wood turnings I have ever made. It stands 20" tall, with the lid, and is 10" wide. It is finished in tung oil and varnish.
