Back Country Stream 10
I have to confess I very much enjoy making these pieces, it is a thrill to watch the piece progress from chainsawing in the field to final airbrushing, not to mention everything in between. Even though a good deal of patience is required. This piece has a copper colour with an over spray of a subtle green violet in the ferns blending from bottom to top. With this piece I wanted the ferns to look a little silhouetted but with subtle colour too. If you like you can see a few other views in my new work gallery on www.timberly.co.nz Masking pierced work is "fun" indeed. Size is 180mm in diameter by 130mm in height. Finish is lacquer and artists quality acrylics. Comments etc. as always are welcome.I hope you all enjoy. Cheers Gordon
Gordon, your wonderful pierced pieces just blow me away. Not just the piercing, but the colors you use are just outstanding. As a beginner at piercing my work, I can truly appreciate what you do.

Your piercing technique is terrific, and you have a wonderful sense of pictorial design. Congratulations.

The rating doesn't go high enough! Gordon this is magnificent! I had my first go at airbrushing on my Yew piece and had a lot of fun with it.
You've no idea what I'd give to be able to spend a week with you and Terry in your studio!
