Banksia Bowl II

Banksia bowl II

Wood: Banksia, Taupo grown
Diam: 175mm (7")
Height: 110mm (4-3/8")
Finnish: lacquer

I sold the other banksia bowl last Sunday and my customers loved it so much they ordered another but larger. I had to go looking for another piece of banksia but a little bigger. I found a piece under the gardening table in the backyard and it looks as though it was from the same tree. I love the distortion you get in this wood; I think it works well with the round bottom.
It was a little easier doing the pyrography on this piece being a little larger. I don't normally lacquer my bowls but it certainly brings out the iridescent in the paint.
