Barrel of Tricks

This barrel has a "no fail" base - concept came from Jerry Bennett. It is a pie shaped segmented ring that uses 45deg grain direction to minimize stress at the joints. The barrel lid and base are both made using this concept. There is a follow along project in the SWT forum discussing this if you are interested. There's been some good discussion and some rigorous testing of some test parts!
The barrel also features a tiny working spigot.... although you've got to be quite patient.
It is 150mm tall (6"), walnut, stains and finished with satin rattle can lacquer. All C&C welcome.
