Black ash burl vessel

Black ash burl vessel

Black ash burl with African Blackwood, there is a threaded box attached to the inside of the lid. About 12 inches high x 5 inches diameter
Welcome to AAW.....tks for sharing

Really fine looking piece Christopher. Beautiful form and the Black wood details on the lid are the icing on the cake. I don't think it needs the base. It's seems extraneous. The piece is outstanding on its own. By the way, where did you manage to find the Black Ash burl? Since "Up North" closed down I can't find anyone who sells unfinished B.A. burl

I bought the burl years ago , don’t remember where, this piece took best woodturning in show at the Maine wood exhibition a few years back, fine woodworking also featured it that same year, obviously I was very pleased with both
