Not sure on the top ,as I should probably had an opening or natural edge but not both .
Still it caught the eye of the Judges at the Royal Easter show with a second in hollow forms

We don't get a lot of ecualyptus burls here and my first reaction was "what a shame to hide the beautiful wood". The texture really looks wonderful though. All your pieces look very time consuming. I'm always amazed that you produce them as fast as you do. It would take me a week or two to texture something like that.

I'm not troubled by the turned / natural lip combo. Looks fine to me. If it really bothers you, you could produce a nice lid to cap it off. That way there would be a reason to have the turned lip in addition to the natural edge.

Really nice piece. I would have awarded first rather than second. I suppose all those other first place awards helped you get over having to settle for second here:). 10 out of 32 total awards!!!! Wow!!!:eek::eek::eek:
