Centre of sculpture on lathe

This is the inner piece from my sculpture mounted on my Nova lathe.
I was using my Graduate lathe as a free standing tool rest.
Holy Smokes!! With the right shape on the piece the prop wash might be enough to move the lathe across the shop. I imagine you got a pretty good cooling breeze as well (although you probably don't need cooling breezes in your location).

You are a braver man than I am. Good job.

i assume you have variable speed on the Nova? very nice

It is very solid.
I now have a Jet free standing toolrest.
The first time i used it it walked into the piece i was turning.
That piece was about 5' so it was not funny.

Regards George
