First time working with Cocobolo. I was fortunate to acquire a few blocks from an estate a few months ago. This was the smallest one. It hollowed easier than I was expecting and I was able to keep the opening at 1/2”.
Well done. I really like how the shape and the grain structure are supporting each other. What is the finish? Looking at the left side edge it seems that there is a fairly extensive surface coat.

Thank you, it’s finished with just 1 coat of Tried and True Danish Oil (which is just polymerized linseed oil), and a 3-step Beal buff. It probably didn’t need the oil. Oh, and sanded to 1000 grit.
