Corkscrew Willow burl 16" x 14"
This is the largest hollow vessel that I have made from one piece of wood. Willow is really a light weight wood, so the final vessel is extremely light for its size
On my lathe, this piece would have blown to smithereens. Amazing how you managed to prevent that, especially considering the type of wood.
Nice turning, great photo!

Beautiful, beautiful turning. Love the wood and the fact that you could turn it so thin and not blowing the thing up is remarkable. Your right, willow is very light. I turned a lot of willow and have a question for you. Is this particular piece spalted? All the willow I turned is practically white with faint tan grain, but the piece of yours is beautiful. Mitch
