Fatwood from Utah 2'X2"
Beautiful hollowform. I had to Google "fatwood" and learned it is the same as resinous pine heartwood. All of the sources said that kindling is the only use for fatwood. No pun intended, but how unenlightened they are! I turned a ponderosa pine knot once. Not only was it a great wood to turn, but it also smelled great when it was turned.

Thanks guys, this photo really doesn't show the piece properly, it is a lot better looking in person. Every angle of view gives something more to see. I have a few more pieces and I'll do some more hollow forms, this one is going back to Utah to the guy who sent me the fatwood chunks.
