Hawthorn hollow form.

Hawthorn hollow form.

This was turned from Hawthorn from a tree removed from my garden to make room for my workshop about two years ago.
Approx 7" high.
Hi George,
Very well turned hollow form. I like what seems to be a satiny finish on a good looking piece of timber.

Hi Gil
I had never really thought of hawthorn as a wood suitable for turning so i was well pleased with the result.
Thank you for commenting.

Regards George

HI George

That is a good result for hawthorne. When ever I have tried to turn it it splits not matter how slow I try to season it.

Must try it again
