Illusions in Wood

A new body of work that is deceptive to the viewer...until they pick it up, and discover that it's not pottery, ceramic or metal, but wood! Want to know how I create these pieces? Come to my demo, Patterns, Texture and Color at the AAW's International Woodturning Symposium in Portland Oregon, June 14-17, 2018.
Thats also a nice trio Donna ! I think the large one in the back is done with some curled up wire , I made myself such a curly pyro wire for a similar texture on a bowl across the rim. I saw Greame Priddle at Magma in Austria a couple of years ago and he used it on one of his vessels ..so i was inspired...and now I'm again inspired by your pieces ;-)
How did you do the circles ? is that als pyro ? cannot tell it from the Picture..and the smaller red one I can only imagine that it is carved or also pyro'ed (funny Expression).. would be nice to hear fom you !
