Interception

Thought I might try something a bit different for a change. I had some horse chestnut that to be honest had gotten a bit too dry and punky I didn't really expect to be able to get much out of it but this piece turned fairly cleanly. Having made the decision to try something different I continued with the experiment. The outside is textured using a motor carving head with the rounded back end of a burr to create "golfball" type texture It was then sprayed white and the same burr end used again only in a revolving handpiece to cut back through the paint to reveal the wood. I quite like the finished result but I wait to see what everyone else thinks about it!

C&C welcome
I love it. Im currently putting the same type of texture on a piece now and live the paint idea.

Well done!

Super job I really like this piece.

I love it. It's a real eye catcher. The roving pattern of the natural wood is really done well.
