Manzanita & Maple Burl Bowl

Manzanita & Maple Burl Bowl

I had a large piece of Manzanita burl that had a major defect in the center. I did not know just what to do with it. I decided to add a layer of Maple burl to the bottom and make a large natural edge bowl. I think the color contrast between the Maple and Manzanita works well. I left the rim thick to show off the natural edge. Beautiful deep blood red color and grain pattern. 16" x 4", finished with bush oil and wax.
