This was done with my new index system and a router with 90 degree V groove bit. I inserted the purple heart in the V grooves and then turned it.

As I said on another forum, this is a real eye-catcher! Do you have a profile available? I am curious if this has a platter base or a bowl foot.

George The base has a recessed dovetail foot. I've never really liked leaving a dovetail recess and usually make some sort of foot. Unfortunately I didn't shoot the bottom. I'm building a special spring loaded wall hanging device to go with it. I've had this in the back of my mind for a while and built a prototype. Now it's time to build the real deal.
