maple with acrylic

this is a piece it is maple i turned it and then drilled 1/2 "holes and then glued in pieces of colored acrylic rod
finished with tru-oil
Interesting effect. Did you turn the acrylic rod while it was glued into the holes? It came out pretty smooth looking.

the piece was rough turned alcohol dried turned again and left with a thick rim.
i then marked and drilled the holes and epoxyed the acrylic in and then finished turned once dry

the out side rim was sanded to 12000 to remove the scratched from the acrylic
