Mobile #3

My latest Mobile. The base, upright and arm are Cocobolo. The other wood is ash. Overall it is about 26" tall and 14" wide.
Like it a lot (Stevens Tech grad, alma mater of Alexander Calder, inventor of the mobile...)

Like the mix of light and dark. The "light ash" counterbalancing the steel ball is a good touch...

Thanks, you don't see a lot of spindle turning in the forum photos so I thought I would put something up. The weight is actually lead I reclaimed and melted into molds. Alexander Calder is one of my favorite artists. I was looking for a way to combine my woodturning with creating a mobile.

Very nice! I like that the elements on the right-hand side are attached so that they flair upward, it gives a lift and a feeling of celebration to the piece.
