Mother's Pincushion

Mother's Pincushion

Lidded vessels of southern magnolia in the style of what has become a traditional design of pincushion with a stylized tomato and a strawberry for needles. My mother had one since before I was born, and so did countless others. They are still made in this style today. TransTint dyes color the vessels, lids, and string (which is waxed),and the pins and needles are made from antler. 6"W x 4.5"H. Buffed and waxed.
