Ornamental Birdhouse
Michael Butterfield

Ornamental Birdhouse

Birdhouse ornament, body turned out of three Black walnut (Juglans nigra) boards laminated with wood glue and Aspen (Populus tremuloides) roof and finial.
Thanks Gary, it is about six inches tall- the hole in front is 5/8". So, it is too small for real birds, more of a bughouse maybe.

It is finished with two coats of Doctor's Woodshop oil and wax non-toxic finish, applied on the lathe and friction polished.

I made a couple of these as gifts for my wife's family. The walnut was milled by my late Father-in-law.
