Osage Orange Burl Hollow Form C

Back View: Vase measures 4 3/8 inches high by 6 inches in diameter.
It is finished with olive oil and bees wax.

Really nice piece- was the wood relatively green when you turned it? If not, I hate to see the wear and tear on your grinding wheel! Osage is a bear to turn - especially if dry! I really like the form and the hint of a rim at the top - excellent execution!

Thank you, I liked the rim too!
If you notice, there is some dark brown in the mix. That is from the stint the stump spent in the sun. The tree had been cut down atleast two years before I found it.
The wood is still damp, but I haven't found it that difficult to turn.
