Shell Fragment Series #8

Shell Fragment Series #8

7.25"H x 5"W x 3"D. Maple, turned, cut, carved, pierced, dyed/bleached. Stand: Maple, cut, carved, paint, brass rod.

This is a furtherance of my shell series, based on a type of oyster shell found around here. I took this to the symposium, and it was selected for the IG Critique, which I felt was quite an honor. David Ellsworth and the Masons loved it, and David's only negative comment was that I should make the next one 6' tall, or even bigger, so that he could walk through it. I told him I would if I could borrow his big lathe.

As always, C&C's are most welcome!
