Spalted Sugar Maple Pot

Spalted Sugar Maple Pot

Before we logged I cleaned up the trails and most of the dead and standing trees for firewood, about 20 cords. Out of all this I kept one sugar maple butt log that showed good spalting, the rest will heat the house and workshop in our wood boiler. This is one piece in a group I will call From the Fallen Tree. ;-) All are turned green from the frozen blocks. There was some movement while the pieces dried in the paper bag. The pith was weak or rotten so most of the pieces will have larger openings than I like but I felt the wood was worth saving. The pot is spalted Sugar Maple, 10x6.5. Oil finish. Comments & Critiques appreciated.
