Spheres

My club had a sphere-turning demo last week. I’ve never made one before and thought I’d give it a shot. These are my first four, ranging from 3” to 3 3/8” in diameter. From the top, going clockwise, they are box elder, spalted maple, Bradford pear and ash.
Russ, I told my 11 year old grandson that I was turning bills. When he stopped laughing he said “maybe you should call them spheres.” Then he resumed laughing.
Of course I meant “balls” not “bills.” That’s what you get for posting from bed when you’re half asleep.

You must have a good eye for shape.
Thanks Dean. Not such a great eye as good at following directions. I’m using a mathematical process, which if done carefully seems to create an almost perfect sphere, then final sanding brings the sphere into fully round.
