Tall Maple Vase

Tall Maple Vase

This maple was a bit plain as far as the grain goes, so I added a bead at the base and a burn line at the rim to liven it up a little. The vase is approx. 9 inches tall and 4.5 wide.

Comments welcome!
Odie-

I usually run around 1800 to 1900 RPM for burning. Depending on the shape of the piece, might have to make a small cut with the skew for the wire to run in for the burn line. Otherwise the wire might run all over the place before setting in one place and it might not be the place that you want it.

First of all, thanks Odie and Gary.......to your question Odie about burning a line..........I pretty much do the same as Gary......at times I will use a skew to make a little groove if the shape of the turning might allow the wire to slip. 1800 rpm sounds about right, although I have done it at slower and faster speeds.
