Walnut Bowl

Walnut Bowl

This originally started out to be much taller but the wood was full of ring shake so I kept turning until the cracks disappeared and this is what I ended up with. It was roughed to 3/4" thick, soaked in DNA and set out to dry for a month. One small crack appeared right in the middle of the side.

The bowl is 15 1/2" wide and 4" tall. Sanded to 1200, finished with BLO and carnauba wax. After looking at the pics I wish I would of rounded off the bottom a little bit more.

Comments/Critiques always appreciated,
Shane Whitlock
A rounded bottom would have been nice too, but this has a bit of a Danish Modern feel. It's a very good looking bowl.
