White Oak Root

My wife saw a guy taking this tree down and was going to leave when he said it was oak, but she got him to cut a piece of the root for me. It was about 12" in dia; and produced some of the strangest grain I've ever seen. The bowl is about 9" in dia x 10.5" high. It was pretty green and I filled any checks with dyed epoxy. Any comments welcome.
Very unique grain, and a nice turning job. The filled checks a nice touch. You wife has a good eye...and great presence of mind.

I like the shape, and you are right about the grain--looks Van Goghesque; kind of like Starry Night.

Awesome, Awesome, AWESOME!
