windsor chair

Finally I have enough chairs for my dining table. Phew! It has taken years to get them all made. Multiple woods and paint.
very nice Michelle, i recently bought at auction a windsor chair with carved spirals on the top board, i enjoy looking for them, never really thought about making one, is there a site giving beginers instruction someplace?

Hi Charlie: I started making these 25+yrs ago, and there wasn't too much info around then. I slowly found books, and learned a ton from them. Here's some books to help: Shaker style wood projects, Robert Sonday
the chairmaker's Workshop Drew Langsner. Traditional Windsor chairmaking with Jim Rendi (basic step by step)and last: make a Windsor chair with Michael Dunbar.
with these you can make a great chair. Hope it helps

That's nothing short of a gorgeous and well designed chair, Michelle. Wonderful work! We don't make too many things we can sit on.. :)
