Wormy blasted Elm with Aluminum

Elm, blasted, dyed with Aluminum. 6 inches high by 6 1/2 inches wide. The outside has Danish Oil, and the inside has high gloss wipe-on-poly finish.
Interesting piece gary, nice full bodied bowl.
do you mean "sand blast" over the worm holes?
The Ali seems to blend in OK with the darker timber

Pete-

I turned the piece, taped all the areas that I did not want to blast. A friend who is a machineist lets me use his equipment. He uses glass beads to blast with instead of sand. After the blasting, remounted on the lathe and turned the inside and the foot piece, then dug out all the worm poop before coloring and finishing. I taped the inside of the bowl ( all areas that has worm holes that went all the way through) so the dye wouldn't be blown into the center when I shot it with dye. I wanted the inside to remain pristine.

Gary

Jake-

Thanks.
