Busted my Banjo

I've got an old Delta 46-111 11" lathe and I busted the banjo. It was an old-school one anyway and I want to get a newer quick-adjust model that doesn't have that big nut on top. Looked at the Delta 46-707 (best price is around $60) and it looks like it would work, but I'm not sure that the bed gap on the lathe (approx 1-1/4") is wide enough to accomodate it. I also found that Sears has a similar banjo including a 24 inch tool rest for $49. (I'd only have one banjo so I couldn't use it until I got another banjo).
Can anyone tell me what bed gap the 46-707 or the craftsman banjo requires? Or is there another alternative?

Rick
