18” Texas Cedar Elm Platter - spalted

One of the more difficult pieces I have done. Lot of cracks, really soft in the light colored areas and hard as iron in the the dark areas
Thanks Hughie! It was a real challenge to focus on being so gentle with cuts to prevent tear out in the heavily spalted wood, and - equally for sanding to prevent "divots" and dished out areas. AnStill - there are a couple of minor ones....But the overall one this piece is....I wish I had more like it. One the backside of the piece - in the spalted area there is a scene of the mountains. A true gift from nature. I will post that because it is one of those things we don't get to see often.
