Agent 86

Agent 86

When I made this Elm bowl about 8 years ago its surface was quite blotchy. Sitting on top of a cabinet for years mellowed the color. Would you believe that I skillfully carved a slot in the side so I could embellish it with some laced leather? Would you believe that I had this bowl turned it developed a crack drying? Or would you believe that I got careless finishing the foot and it came off the vacuum chuck? Maxwell Smart was agent 86 from the 60’s TV show Get Smart. Hopefully, I’ll do that and always use my tailstock when I can, while finishing the bottoms of bowls.
Does it have a shoe phone? It does have a nice rustic feel to it.
