Anasazi Ruins

Spalted maple, 6 inches diameter by 6.5 inches tall. The inspiration for this one was the ruins in Bears Ears National Monument, where the masonry doesn't approach the mastery of Chaco Canyon. I tried to invoke a feeling of the stonework succumbing to years of weathering, although I am not so sure arranging the bricks at an angle really works.
