Black oak burl

Black oak burl

This came from a tree in our yard. It was from near the roots and was sort of a hybrid burl/figured. 11.5" wide 4" deep. Finished with shellac sealer then abrasive paste.
Bowl is great. I have a hard time getting oak to dry without cracking. Good job!
It does like to crack! When I core them out, I cover the whole thing in two coats of anchor seal (or equivelant) and it takes about 4 months in our climate before I re turn them. Every other one is unusable
