Cherry Burl Platter

Cherry Burl Platter

This is what I call an "onion burl." I rough turned it when it was quite wet, and as it dried, very large cracks formed as the burl areas separated from the straight grained areas. Those areas were filled with black resin. 12 inch diameter by 2.5 inches tall, finished with Osmo Polyx
