Donna, have the next one (it's topless) on the carving bench right now. This is all one learning experience after another for me, especially since there is no way for me to get any instruction. But that's the way I have learned most things in my life...trial and error!
Carole, I like what you have done with what sounds like a difficult piece to work with. I carve alot these days, but I haven't carved punky wood...yet. Bet that's quite a challenge, would love to hear how you went about it.

Like Donna, I very rarely comment on photos. When I saw this, I loved it and was even more surprised to see you were the artist! To my eye, it's perfect just the way it is. Making the top thinner, smaller, whatever, is just changing it for another's opinion. Of course, I want to see other versions myself, not to improve this one but just to see another piece of art. : )
