Lazy Bastao

This Lazy Susan was formed from a cross section of the Bastao tree. The tree is highly irregular but has some interesting grain and shape patterns. I did actually use the lathe to complete and polish the clear acrylic platter. The 'slice' of Bastao wood is attached to a ball bearing section so that it turns freely. Finish is Wiping Poly.
Looks a lot like juniper or cedar. Where does Bastao grow?
